A comparative study of several factors affecting fertility score in Murrah buffaloes and Sindhi cows

A comparative study of several factors affecting fertility score in Murrah buffaloes and Sindhi cows

Indian Journal of Animal Health 12(2): 149-154

The records used in the study covered the first 3 lactations of 123 Murrah buffaloes on 2 farms and of 100 Red Sindhi cows on 2 farms. A fertility score, based on age at 1st calving and av. calving interval, averaged 33.68 plus or minus 1.68 in buffaloes and 35.44 plus or minus 0.61 in cows. The fertility score was significantly affected by the season of 1st calving in cows, but not in buffaloes.
