Abstract
Data from eight varieties were combined, subjected to analysis of variance and covariance, partitioned into genotypic and phenotypic components, and genotypic and phenotypic correlation coefficients were estimated. On the basis of genotypic correlation coefficients, a path-coefficient analysis of each variety was made and the results are tabulated. The results indicated the importance of number of capsules per plant and capsule length in selecting for higher yielding types in all the varieties studied.
