A new major gene for resistance to Helminthosporium turcicum leaf blight of maize

This gene (HtN) for resistance to H. turcicum is reasonably stable although in some parts of the world the resistance may not be expressed. This results in segregation ratios that depart to a variable degree from those expected for a single dominant gene.
