A study of genome mutability in the intergeneric hybrid Zea mays var. semiindurata Kir. X Euchlaena mexicana Schrad

Two diploid intergeneric hybrids, one resembling maize and the other teosinte, were treated with a 0.1% concentration of colchicine. In the C1 complete diploidization occurred more often in the female gametophyte and partial diploidization more often in the male.
