A study of intervarietal hybrids of common vetch (Vicia sativa L.). III. Variability, inheritance and correlation of characters

Among quantitative characters, variability in the F2 was greatest in seed yield per plant, reaching 68.5% in one cross, but in pods per plant also and in number of seeds per plant Vmax approx equal to 60%, while variability was consistently below 10% in respect of length of growing season, leaflets per leaf and pod length and breadth. Variability in ten other features was between 10% and 40%.
