The disease of Lagenaria leucantha, widespread in Aligarh, is identical with that previously described (Shankar, G. et al. Indian Journal of Microbiology 11:43, 1971). Additional hosts include Commelina nudiflora, Mukia maderaspatana and Salvia sp., all of which showed symptoms, and the virus was recovered on back inoculation to L. leucantha.
