An assessment of the performance of preservative treated poles in some areas of Ghana: 77

Inspection of various routes consisting of telegraph poles 20-25 years old shows that hardwood poles without top caps, treated with creosote by the hot-and-cold bath method, have given average service lives of ca. 23 years in the savannah region and 18-30 years in different parts of the moist semi-deciduous forest.
