Abstract
Wall thickening at the polar ends of the guard cells was observed in Curcuma amada; C. domestica, Zingiber officinale, Elettaria cardamomum, Canna indica, Coffea arabica and Camellia sinensis. In some instances the thickening was restricted to the outer wall at the polar regions, whereas in others it extended to the common inner wall.
