Hyalopterus pruni (Geoffr.) is one of the important insect pests of apricot and peach in Iraq. Its main parasite there is Aphidius transcaspicus Telenga, which occurs throughout the country. A species of Aphelinus parasitises small numbers of the aphid in Lower Iraq, and Praon volucre (Hal.) parasitises the aphid in the Mountains of Kurdistan.
