Application of fertilizers to spring wheat grown under irrigated conditions



Khimiya v Sel' skom Khozyaistve 12(3): 13-15



In irrigated trials in 1970-1 with spring wheat given 60-90 kg N, 60-120 kg P2O5 and 60 kg K2O/ha in various combinations, application of 60 kg N + 120 kg P2O5 + 60 kg K2O or 60 kg N + 20 kg P2O5/ha gave the highest average grain yields of 3.65 and 3.54 t/ha, respectively, compared with 2.65 t/ha on plots given no NPK. Applied K increased resistance to lodging. Applied P was less effective in increasing yields in a dry year.
