Bacterial plant diseases in Hokkaido 1. Bacterial brown spot of adzuki bean caused by Pseudomonas syringae van Hall

Bacterial plant diseases in Hokkaido 1. Bacterial brown spot of adzuki bean caused by Pseudomonas syringae van Hall

Bulletin of Hokkaido Prefectural Agricultural Experiment Stations (23): 90-97

Symptoms of a previously unreported bacterial disease on Phaseolus angularis appeared as small brown leaf spots, gradually enlarging to round, reddish brown spots with large haloes. Later the spots became fragile, thin, parchment like and torn. On the petioles there were water soaked, reddish brown streaks. The pathogen was identified as Pseudomonas syringae.
