Blood and plasma volumes in dogs, determined with radioactive iodinated human serum albumin

Blood and plasma volumes in dogs, determined with radioactive iodinated human serum albumin

Revista da Faculdade de Medicina Veterinaria e Zootecnia da Universidade de Sao Paulo 11: 227-230

Seven dogs and four bitches were used; age and breed not defined, weight 5 to 17 kg, and all in good condition. 1 ml of a solution of I131 RIHSA with 4 mu Ci/ml in physiological serum was injected into the radial vein of one foreleg; after an interval of 12 minutes 10 ml blood was taken, with heparin from the vein of the other foreleg. The heamatrocrit was determined. Plasma was prepared by centrifuging blood and used in 2 ml tubes.
