Crosses were made between flood and deep-water resistant varieties. Crosses involving IR8, Jaya and Sarjoo 49 were also made. The F2 plants were grown in flood or deep-water conditions and selections made. Yield data are given for 40 varieties or selections grown in flood or deep-water conditions in 1970.
