Selected from a regional variety, Milka has symmetrical bulbs weighing 25-40 g mostly 3-4 cm in diameter, and 6-9 bulbs per plant. The growing period for green shallots is 50-70 days and for dry bulbs 80-130 days from a spring planting. Milka gives a yield of 140-220 q per ha and the dry bulbs store well for up to two years.
