Changing Latin America: new interpretations of its politics and society: Agrarian reform in Latin America

The lack of sufficient studies on Latin American agrarian reform at micro level has left some important issues inadequately understood. These are: (1) the relationship between access and tenure; (2) the impact of reform on production; (3) the cultural fit of co-operatives and collectives; (4) the impact of agrarian reform on urban growth; and (5) adjustment mechanisms of the landed elite.
