Combining ability for some agronomic characters in Gossypium herbaceum L



Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences 43(7): 684-689



A study of 14 characters related to yield in a six-parent diallel showed that, in general, Yerali 197-3, Jayadhar and EPSB were the best combiners. General combining ability variances were larger than specific combining ability (SCA) variances for all characters except height. Digvijay X EPSB and 3943 X EPSB were the best crosses with high SCA effects for most of the characters.
