Progeny of PI343721 X W15-2 showed a skewed distribution for purple skin colour, and white, low-caroteinoid flesh, while 59.4% progeny of W15-2 X Centennial were copper and tan coloured, and 83.9% had high carotenoid content. Heritability values for skin and flesh colour, yield, storage ability, vine length, baking index and root exterior varied greatly between the crosses.
