Comparative biochemical studies of Litomosoides carinii, Dipetalonema viteae, and Brugia pahangi adults

Comparative biochemical studies of Litomosoides carinii, Dipetalonema viteae, and Brugia pahangi adults

Journal of Parasitology 60(2): 316-321

Litomosoides carinii, Dipetalonema wite and Brugia pahangi were all found to remain motile under in vitro aerobic conditions although B. pahangi lost motility faster than the other 2 species. Under anaerobic conditions, L. carinii lost motility quite rapidly indicating a high dependence on an aerobic energy metabolism. The motility of the other 2 species was the same under aerobic and anaerobic conditions.
