Comparative cultivation of some strains of lactobacilli on different nutrient media

When 5 media were compared for their suitability for growth and enumeration of Lactobacillus bulgaricus P3, L. helveticus X1 and L. acidophilus E, best results for all 3 species after incubation for 48 h were obtained on MRS argar; whey agar also gave good results.
