Comparative disc-electrophoresis studies on the proteins of the leaves and shoot tips in the genus Vitis

Analyses of leaves and shoot tips of varieties from crosses of the types A X A, (A X A) X A, (A X A) X (A X A), E X A, (E X A) X A, (E X A) X (A X A) and (A X A) X E showed that the rate of breakdown in autumn varied according to variety and that the protein patterns are "more specific, the closer the genetic relationships between the varieties." No conclusions regarding genetic segregation could be drawn, nor was there any difference in composition of the protein fractions between varieties resistant and susceptible to Phylloxera.
