In Stonewall County, in the Rolling Plains area of Texas, in the autumn of 1967, malathion at 0.91 and 1.21 lb and azinphos-methyl at 0.19 and 0.25 lb/acre were tested in ultra-low-volume sprays applied from the air against late-season populations of Anthonomus grandis Boh. on cotton. Six applications were made between 8th September and 24th October, and fruiting forms were collected on 11 occasions from 5th September to 2nd November and the numbers of weevils/acre calculated.
