Comparative histopathology in larvae of armyworm, Pseudaletia unipuncta Haworth (Lepidoptera:Noctuidae), infected with two strains of a nuclear-polyhedrosis virus

Comparative histopathology in larvae of armyworm, Pseudaletia unipuncta Haworth (Lepidoptera:Noctuidae), infected with two strains of a nuclear-polyhedrosis virus

Applied Entomology and Zoology 7(1): 9-16

Studies with Mythimna (Pseudaletia) unipuncta (Haw.) showed that even though infection of the larvae by the typical strain of a nuclear polyhedrosis virus is much more acute than infection by the strain that causes hypertrophy the cytopathology, especially of the trachea, is similar. However, the typical strain causes a difference in the stratification of the hypodermis.
