Comparative serological studies on the presence of swine influenza and influenza A2/Hong Kong infections in pigs in Bavaria.

Zentralblatt fur Veterinarmedizin 19B(Heft 5): 397-405

HI tests with the equine-inhibitor resistant strain A2/Hong Kong/ 1/68 were conducted on 361 serum samples collected in 1968/69 and 177 collected during the winter of 1970/71 from pigs sent to slaughter from various Bavarian herds. After heat inactivation and absorption of isoagglutinins, more than half the samples from 1968/69 reacted positively, 10.6% with titres above 1:16, and 35% of the 1970/71 samples, 5.7% of them with titres above 1:16.
