Abstract
In field trials with fodder sorghum cv. and a local maize cv., the sorghum cv. Lavrense, Fartura and Santa Eliza gave the highest DM yields of 14.67, 13.67 and 12.9 t/ha, respectively. In a trial with spacing of 9, 12 or 15 plants/m of row, no effect of plant density was found, but in a trial with 0.6, 0.8 or 1 m between rows and 10 or 20 plants/m of row, a significant row spacing X plant density interaction was found. In 3 years, no significant effect of sowing date was found after sowing on 25 Oct. and at 10-day intervals after this date until 21 Dec., except in 1 cv. in 1 year.
