Groups of 7 Bulgarian Simmental bull calves were given from 160 to 640 kg liveweight a complete pelleted feed with 32% concentrates throughout or one with 45% concentrates from 160 to 250 kg, 32% from 250 to 450 kg and 24% from 450 kg to the end. Average daily gains for the 2 groups were 1323 and 1366, intakes of FU/kg gained were 6.05 and 5.64, and intakes of concentrates were 2.74 and 2.37 kg/kg gained.
