Concentration of penicillin in the udder of cows (following injection into the abdominal aorta)

Concentration of penicillin in the udder of cows (following injection into the abdominal aorta)

Veterinariya, Moscow (12): 78-79

Ten lactating cows aged 6 to 10 years were used in a study of penicillin levels in the blood, mammary lymph and milk examined at intervals after a dose of 2500 units (per kg body weight) dissolved in 0.5% procaine had been injected into the abdominal aorta. Some cows received aortically penicillin 20 minutes after the induction of ganglion block by means of procaine injections.
