Correlations of milk yield characters with fattening performance and carcass value in cattle

Correlations of milk yield characters with fattening performance and carcass value in cattle

Tierzuchter 24(24): 710-712

Data are tabulated for correlations between 3 milk production characters and various fattening and carcass characters in young German Black Pied bulls, sired by 63 bulls tested at Hanover since 1965. Milk yield was significantly correlated with daily weight gains (0.59), total weight gains (0.47) and consumption of starch units/kg gain from 28 days of age to 350 kg (-0.41).
