Cytotaxonomical studies on Vicia cracca L. and V. tenuifolia Roth. III. The relation between caryotype and morphology

Cytotaxonomical studies on Vicia cracca L. and V. tenuifolia Roth. III. The relation between caryotype and morphology

Annales Botanici Fennici 10(2): 89-96

A 12-chromosome race previously referred to as V. cracca proved identical with V. incana. Another, obtained under the name V. tenuifolia, had a caryotype similar to that of V. incana and was identified as V. dalmitica. Diploid (2n = 14) and tetraploid (2n = 28) races within V. cracca differed from each other statistically in leaf length, flower size and seed weight, but individuals could not be distinguished readily.
