In nursery experiments at Rome, Fusarium oxysporum proved be the fungus most frequently responsible for damping-off of P. radiata; Alternaria sp., Cylindrocarpon cylindroides and Rhizoctonia sp. were less important, and Dichotomophthora portulacae, isolated for the first time, did little damage.
