Data on the nutrient uptake of different turf grasses and turf grass mixtures during the growing period

The trial described was carried out on a relatively heavy clay soil containing adequate P and K and with N applied at a low rate (160 kg/ha). N, P and K in the dry matter of the mowings from 4 grass mixtures and 8 spp. were assessed on 5 dates from late April to early September. P uptake remained at the same level throughout the season, with little variation between spp. Uptake of both N and K fell from spring to autumn and the curves for the 2 elements were mostly parallel.
