In field trials in 1968-70 at the Experimental Didactic Station, Banu-Maracine, maize grown in a wheat/maize rotation was given no fertilizer, 48 kg N + 32 kg P2O5/ha, 96 kg N + 64 kg P2O5/ha or 20 t f.y.m. + 48 kg N + 32kg P2O5/ha and sown after ploughing 15, 20 or 30 cm deep in summer or 20 cm deep in autumn.
