Edda - a new early plum

, : Edda - a new early plum. Acta Horticulturae (48): 83-84

The new was developed from a cross between Czar and Prune Peche. Tree and fruit characteristics are described. It flowers at about the same time as Ruth Gerstetter, which it is intended to replace in Norway. The large fruits have an average weight of 32 g. They ripen at about the same time as Rivers' Early Prolific. Trees come into bearing early, yielding up to 7 kg/tree 4 years after planting.
