Effect of applying gypsum to solonets soil on the contents of amino acids and of total- and protein-N in plants



Agrokhimiya (5): 108-112



The contents of free amino acids in the leaves of maize and barley plants were higher when they were grown on solonets soil than on chernozem soil, whereas the reverse trend was observed for the contents of bound amino acids. Maize leaves contained 78 mg free amino acids/g DM on solonets soil and 42 mg on chernozem soil; barley leaves contained 37 and 30 mg, respectively.
