Effect of drought and increased salt concentration on the growth and development of young tomato plants

Effect of drought and increased salt concentration on the growth and development of young tomato plants

Landbouwkundig Tijdschrift 86(4): 101-104

he growth inhibitions resulting from an increase in the salt content of the medium were of similar extent to those produced by a low rate of water supply; both caused a decrease in the fresh weight (and to a smaller extent in dry matter production) of the plants, and led to a retardation in flower development and to the production of tomatoes of reduced size.
