Meadow fescue seedlings established in pots were sprayed when 6-8 cm tall with aqueous solutions of B, Cu, Mn, Mo and Zn at various concentrations. Plants were harvested when 27-37 cm tall. Half the experimental plants received a 2nd foliar dosage and all were harvested a 2nd time. All treatments stimulated growth, increased herbage yield and increased protein, mineral and trace element content, although the degree of response varied with the trace elements.
