In 62 experiments in Poland (1962-71), 33 on wheat soils and 29 on rye soils under four-year rotations, P contents, as determined by Egner-Riehm's method showed no relationship to yield, although, to a small degree, it permitted the prediction of yield response to P fertilizing. At a rate of 36 kg/ha P2O5 the mean yearly yield increase was 8-9% on soils containing 1-5 mg P2O5/100 g soil, and 4% on soils of high P content.
