Abstract
Eight Landrace sows were given a standard ration increasing during pregnancy and lactation, and 8 sows a restricted ration during pregnancy and an ad libitum ration during lactation. In the 2 groups resp., litter size at birth averaged 14.2 and 14.2, and the number of viable piglets/litter 13.1 and 12.9. The difference was not significant.
