Abstract
In trials in 1967-9, cowpeas were given soil applications of 0, 25 or 50 kg P2O5/ha alone or with foliar application of 25 kg P2O5 in 1% solution at 825 l/ha. The effectiveness of foliar application of P in increasing seed yields was similar to that of soil application of 50 kg P2O5/ha. The highest yields were given by soil + foliar application of P2O5 at 50 + 25 kg/ha. The yields varied markedly in different years.
