In field tests at two places in Bulgaria in 1967-71, 0.6% Entobakterin (a preparation of spores of Bacillus thuringiensis var. galleriae) was evaluated alone and in combination with four insecticides (at rates of application one-tenth of those usually employed) against Cydia (Carpocapsa) pomonella (L.) on apple. Entobakterin in sprays with tetrachlorvinphos (Gardona) and methyl-parathion (fostiol) caused up to 90 and 95% mortality, respectively, as compared with 45 for Entobakterin alone.
