Effects of Alternaria blackspot on yield, oil content and protein content of rapeseed

Rapeseed cvs. Span (Brassica campestris) and Zephyr (B. napus) were inoculated at various intervals, beginning 36 days after seeding, with A. brassicae and A. raphani alone and in combination. At harvest the plants were ranked as slightly, moderately or severely diseased. Yield reductions (severe disease) for Span and Zephyr, respectively were: both A. spp., 70 and 42%; A. brassicae, 63 and 42%; A. raphani, 42 and 34%.
