Ethephon response favorable on fresh market tomatoes

Trials are discussed on the response to ethephon, applied pre- or postharvest, of Pakmor and Calmart tomatoes (fresh market cvs for machine harvesting). In the first trial greenhouse-grown tomatoes were sprayed with 1000 p.p.m. ethephon either 6 or 3 days before harvest (42 and 45 days, respectively, after pollination).
