Abstract
Age at slaughter and daily gain of 12 German Simmental X (Jersey X Holstein-Friesian) bulls fattened to 500 kg averaged 533 days and 906 g resp. v 633 days and 912 g for 11 bulls fattened to 600 kg. In the group slaughtered at 500 kg, dressing percentage averaged 56.74, percentage of valuable carcass parts 36.92, percentage of lean 74.62, percentage of external fat 6.17, amount of internal fat 29.61 kg, and percentage of bone 16.89 v 57.05, 36.21, 74.53, 6.82, 44.03 kg and 16.07 resp. for bulls slaughtered at 600 kg.
