Feeding of high yielding dairy cows. 4. Ration digestibility in high yielding cows fed at different levels of intake

Feeding of high yielding dairy cows. 4. Ration digestibility in high yielding cows fed at different levels of intake

Meldinger fra Norges Landbrukshoegskole 51(33): 18

4. In a series of 34 digestibility trials 6 cows were offered mixed rations of grass silage, roots and concentrates, in another series 4 cows were given mixed rations of grass silage and concentrates. In some trials grass silage was the only feed. Intakes of feed units (FU) were from below maintenance to more than 4 times maintenance. The smaller rations were given to dry, pregnant cows and the larger in early or mid lactation.
