n a clay soil maximum yields in the spring were obtained with 44.8 kg/ha N; no significant effect of seed rate nor any significant interaction between seed rate and N rate was observed. Neither the yield nor the P content of Bluebelle rice was significantly affected by different sources of P (hyper rock phosphate, basic slag, triple superphosphate). A yield response to P can generally be expected when the soil P level is 5-10 ppm (25-50 lb/acre).
