In trials at 5 sites in 1968-72 in the high-rainfall zone of N.W. Tunisia, fallows of various years' duration were given various rates of N, P and K alone or in combination. Applied P increased DM yields at 4 of the 5 sites and produced a large increase in the legume component at the expense of the weeds and of the grasses.
