, : Florida 556. Circular, Florida Agricultural Experiment Station, University of Florida (S220): 3

Derived from the cross Heinz 4VF X Step 494, Florida 556 is an inbred tomato line of determinate, compact growth habit, giving high yields of fruit of uniform size and good quality. It is early maturing and possesses the J2 gene for "the jointless or stemless characteristic" of the fruit. It is also homozygous resistant to race 1 of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. Lycopersici and Stemphylium solani.
