Experiments were made in order to study stress distribution, using specimens of Shorea negrosensis having printed grid patterns on thin, sensitive film applied to their end faces. Equations are derived relating the horizontal and vertical components of the pressure-bar force, feeding direction of the workpiece, frictional coefficient, and depth of bar indentation.
