Genetic variability and interrelation in agronomic traits in kidney-bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.)

In studies of seven characters in 35 varieties, high estimates of heritability in the broad sense and of expected genetic advance were obtained for pod number per plant and 100-seed weight. Significant and positive phenotypic correlations were recorded between grain yield and the number of days to flowering or maturity, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod and 100-seed weight.
