In trials in the kharif seasons of 1968 and '69 with sorghum hybrid CSH-1 given 100 kg N/ha, increases in the rates of applied P2O5 from 30 to 90 kg/ha were accompanied by linear increases in average grain yields from 4.76 to 5.26 t/ha and also in root weight during the early growth stages.
