Abstract
Four 150 days 2 groups of 8 and 10 Holstein bullocks about 5 months old, 135 to 140 kg liveweight, were given molasses with 2% urea to appetite and 500 g fish meal daily, with 1 kg Pangola grass hay or grazing on Pangola grass for 2 h daily. Average daily gains were 863 and 861 g. Intake of molasses was significantly less with grazing, and so was intake of molasses/unit gain. Carcass composition did not differ between groups.
